EFC
assumed the role of
overall project leader and coordinated all aspects of the work
including inspection, material procurement, construction manpower, and
architectural and structural redesign to accommodate several changes in
the project that were desired by the owner. The project
includes an
18-hole golf course, hotel, staff housing, meetings rooms, and
restaurants. The infrastructure required for the project included
over
1 mile of gravity collection lines, approximately 2,500 feet of force
main, 2 lift stations with duplex 80HP pumps, and the CNMI’s first
waste stabilization pond wastewater treatment plant.
In addition,
EFC’s staff was the licensed operator for the plant for the first two
years after its initial operation.
The pond and wetlands have become a wildlife habitat to endangered
species of birds. Work included the design of a water reclamation
facility that is capable of providing effluent meeting public health
standards. Effluent is used to irrigate the Golf Course.
This water
reclamation facility is currently in operation, providing the Golf
Course with nearly 70,000 gallons per day of
water.
